A brief history

GAZ_MM

The GAZ-MM was produced by the Soviet Union from the end of the 1930’s to the early stages of the 40’s. The design was actually a simplified version of the Ford Model AA, built under licence. The truck had a maximum useable weight of 1.5t. More than 150,000 were produced and used by the Red Army.

This is the first commission build I had undertaken, and also the first time I had ever attempted a winter whitewash.

I’ll let you be the judge, but I was very happy with how it turned out.

The Miniart kit presented a trouble free build, and was assembled ‘out of the box’.

The model was painted using a mix of Vallejo and Tamiya acrylics, and was weathered using MIG enamels. The snow was made using bicarb of soda. Thanks going to Alexander Urusov for his helpful tips!
