Jagdpanzer 38(t) – HETZER - Tamiya 1/48

I love the Hetzer. I always have. Something about this tiny vehicle that used the obsolete chassis of the P38 and turned it into something compact and deadly is kind of cool. When you start adding some of the more interesting camouflage schemes the Hetzer wore during its time in service, building this kit just becomes more and more attractive. I did consider using an etch set I had for this kit but wanted to keep it out of the box to comply with a competition I was about to take part in. That said, the kit is quite adequate out of the box, and was more about reproducing the unique camouflage scheme I had in mind. Like with most of this line of kits, the build only took about 2 hours in total although the painting was to be done in stages as you will see. The fit was perfect as always and a pleasure to build.

The Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer looked like this until September of 1944. The camouflage was applied at the factory. Later, it was replaced with a simpler pattern
