PantherAusf G - Disc Camouflage - Tamiya 1/35

A Brief History

The development of the Panther was fast tracked due to the threat that the newly introduced Russian T-34 posed to the German Military Machine. The Panther’s design drew from the lessons learnt from the T-34. One of the key similarities is of course the sloped armour. The angle on the armour allowed for the thickness of the plate to be reduced but still maintain a good level of protection for the crew. It also meant that the overall weight of the tank could be reduced.

The Panther had the potential to be the finest tank of the Second World War due to its’ firepower paired with its’ excellent armour, however the tank was unfortunately very unreliable and was plagued by mechanical failure
