A brief history

M13/40 Captured Italian Tank - Australian

The Fiat-Ansaldo M13/40 was the main tank used by the Italians throughout World War II. The “M” refers to Medio (medium). According to the Italian tank weight standards at the time, 13 tonnes was the scheduled weight, and 1940 the initial year of production. This kit has been made to represent one of the tanks Australians captured by the Australians during the raid on Bardia in 1941. This successful raid was the first major action the Australians would see in the Second World War
