About this model

Airfix Me-110 Build Article:

This is Airfix’s brand new Me-110 kit that has been supplied in two different boxing depicting two different versions however there are some minor inaccuracies that may need correcting.
For those who wish to make any correction to the kit, here is the list:

  • Reduce the rear topside engine cowling fairing from the movable flap
  • Reshape and extend the rear underside main wheel fairing to a teardrop appearance
  • Add a towel rail aerial under the fuselage
  • Add an underside aerial post in the port wing
  • Add underside aileron mass balances – there are 4 of them

Schemes

I used Mr. Hobby acrylics RLM 02, RLM 71 and Tamiya Light Blue RLM 65 standard temperate camouflage
I then applied gloss clear coat and let it dry/set.
I then applied decals and customised masks and decals for call signs
When the decals were set I then applied Future gloss coat on decals to seal them.
Once the gloss coat seal was dry, I then applie matt coat to the whole model.
I used a Staedler white pencil to draw white lines for temporary winter distemper as per the sole but blurry photographic evidence as I was not able to achieve a very thin line of white paint using an airbrush without frequent clogging.
I then airbrushed in exhaust stains using mix of Tamiya smoke, brown, khaki drab and grey
