A brief history

Staghound AA Scale Model - Bronco - 1/48The T17E2 was a T17E1 fitted with a  turret mounted two 0.5 inch M2 Browning heavy machine guns. The turrets were modified from those built for British Motor Torpedo Boats. 2,610 rounds were carried. The turret was open-topped and had an electric-hydraulic traverse system with a maximum slew rate of 55 degrees a second. It had a reduced crew of 3: commander, loader and driver. 789 units were produced between October 1943 and April 1944, when production stopped.

This is a pretty complex little kit and is something I generally wouldn’t buy. I picked it up as part of a group build. I loved and hated this kit… The build was painful. A lot of photoetch and tiny parts, but the build finish and the way it came up in the end blew me away. It was a really tasty little 1/48th scale kit and I would recommend it highly.
