A brief history...

su152_1305The SU-152 (СУ-152) was a Soviet self-propelled heavy howitzer used during World War II.

It’s 152 mm howitzer was mounted on the chassis of a KV-1S heavy tank.

Production would later use the IS tank chassis and was re-designated ISU-152.

The Su152 was initially developed as a bunker buster but actually gained a reputation as an impromptu heavy tank destroyer. It’s powerful gun was capable of knocking out the heaviest German armoured vehicles.  The vehicle was nicknamed Zveroboy which roughly translates to “one who fights beasts”.

It was also know as the ‘Beast Killer’
