A brief history

Marder III

The Marder, literally translates to ‘marten’ in English. The ‘Marten’ is a slender, agile animal, with bushy tail, large paws and partially retractible claws. They are found in forests across the Northern Hemisphere. Hence, the Marder gained its’ namesake.

The Marder III was generally armed with  a Soviet 76.2mm F-22 Model 1936 divisional field guns, or German 7.5 cm PaK 40. The vehicle was based on the chassis of the Panzer 38(t) with an open top cupola that unfortunately offered little protection to its’ crew.

The Marder III saw actions on all fronts until the end of the War. The Marder III was produced from 1942 to 1944.

 THE MODEL
